Celebrating the Sport
Tennis is more than just a sport; it is an expression of culture, tradition, and artistry. From the grand grass courts of Wimbledon to the clay of Roland Garros, the game has inspired countless artists and designers over the decades. Each poster in this collection tells a story. They capture the essence of competition, the thrill of victory, and the beauty of the game. The 1924 Paris Tennis Olympics Poster Vintage is a prime example, serving as a nostalgic reminder of a pivotal moment in tennis history. This poster, with its dynamic design and historical significance, encapsulates the spirit of the sport during a time when tennis was still defining its identity on the global stage.
Artistry on Display
The visual language of tennis posters often reflects the broader art movements of their time. For instance, the Athena Tennis Poster exemplifies modern design and aesthetics, utilizing bold colors and shapes that resonate with contemporary art forms. This piece not only appeals to tennis enthusiasts but also to those who admire modern art. The interplay of design and sport is evident, making it a versatile addition to any collection.
Iconic Events Captured

The use of color and composition in this poster invites viewers to experience the thrill of the matches, making it a engaging piece for collectors.

The intricate embroidery showcases tennis motifs, making it a thoughtful gift that combines functionality with a passion for the sport. Items like this expand the concept of tennis-themed gifts beyond traditional decor, appealing to a broader audience.
Cultural Background
The world of tennis posters is intricately tied to various art movements, each influencing design trends and aesthetic choices. Beginning in the late 19th century, the Art Nouveau movement embraced organic forms and intricate designs, which can be seen in early tennis posters. Artists sought to capture the elegance of the sport, often integrating flowing lines and floral motifs. This movement laid the groundwork for future artistic expressions in sports posters.
As the 20th century unfolded, movements such as Art Deco emerged, characterized by geometric shapes and bold colors. This shift is reflected in posters from the 1920s and 1930s, where tennis began to be marketed as a glamorous pastime. The 1924 Paris Tennis Olympics Poster Vintage is a notable example of this style. It showcases the bold lines and stylized forms typical of Art Deco, embodying the sophistication of the era.
In the post-war period, the rise of modernism brought about a minimalist approach to design. Posters became more about the message than the decorative elements. The Athena Tennis Poster embodies this ethos, utilizing a clean design that focuses on the essence of the sport. Artists began to move away from ornate designs, favoring simplicity and clarity. This trend not only influenced tennis posters but redefined how sports were visually represented.
Throughout these movements, artists such as Jean Cocteau and Cassandre made significant contributions to the visual culture surrounding sports, including tennis. Their work bridged the gap between high art and popular culture, elevating sports posters to a form of artistic expression worthy of collection. Cocteau’s unique style often incorporated surrealism, while Cassandre’s graphic design was known for its commercial appeal and sophistication. Their influence is still felt today, as contemporary artists continue to draw inspiration from their innovative approaches.

Which sizes are available?
We offer a broad range of sizes, from a small 21x30 cm to a large 84x119 cm. This span lets you dress a desk corner or an entire living-room wall. Every format preserves the proportions of the original artwork, so the composition the artist intended is always respected.

What are the shipping times and costs?
We ship worldwide. Shipping is a flat 6.95 EUR, and free on orders of 69 EUR or more, to every destination. Allow 2 to 6 working days within the European Union; a few extra days for other destinations. Orders are dispatched from within Europe, which shortens delivery times and lowers the transport footprint. You receive tracking as soon as your order ships, so you can follow your parcel at every stage.
What is your returns policy?
You have 90 days to return your order free of charge if it does not suit you. The poster should come back in good condition, ideally in its original packaging. As soon as we receive the return, we process your refund. Our aim is for every work to find its right place in your home.
