Curator's note
Golf prints earn their calm: long fairways, early light and a palette of greens that sits quietly in a study or a hallway. I choose compositions with real depth of landscape, the course as scenery rather than emblem. They suit oak frames and pair naturally with our vintage travel pieces. If the room already has strong colour, a single muted green print will settle it. - Cedric des Lauriers
Artistic Representation of Golf
The artistic representation of golf has evolved over the years, but the essence remains rooted in the sport's rich history. Vintage posters encapsulate a time when golf was not merely a game but a way of life. They reflect the aesthetics of their era, showcasing the elegance of the players, the beauty of the courses, and the leisure lifestyle associated with the sport. The Poster Golf Vintage collection is a tribute to that heritage, providing viewers with a glimpse into the past through the lens of artistic expression. Each print combines visual storytelling with historical significance, offering an opportunity to appreciate the artistry behind golf.
Iconic Courses and Landscapes
Within this collection, you will discover posters that feature iconic golf courses nestled in striking landscapes. The Arcachon Golf Poster, for example, transports you to the picturesque region of France, where the natural beauty complements the challenge of the game. These posters not only highlight the allure of the courses but also evoke a sense of nostalgia for golf lovers who have walked the fairways of these legendary sites. The intertwining of striking scenery and the sport itself creates a visual narrative that is both engaging and classic.
A Connection to Tradition
The Vintage Golf Posters serve as a bridge connecting the modern golfer to the traditions of the sport. In an age where technology often overshadows the charm of classic experiences, these posters remind us of golf's roots. They evoke memories of camaraderie on the course, the thrill of competition, and the serenity found in nature while playing. By incorporating these art pieces into your environment, you engage with the legacy of golf, fostering a deeper appreciation for the game’s history and its evolution through time.
The Craftsmanship Behind the Prints
Every piece in the Poster Golf Vintage collection is produced with meticulous attention to detail. Utilizing museum-quality 275gsm paper and giclée printing techniques, these prints deliver bold colors and sharp details that will stand the test of time. The craftsmanship involved in creating these posters ensures that each piece not only looks beautiful but also feels substantial and worthy of display. The commitment to quality is evident, making these prints a meaningful addition to anyone's collection, whether they are seasoned collectors or new enthusiasts of golf art.
Art Movements Influencing Golf Posters
The Poster Golf Vintage collection is influenced by various art movements that have shaped the aesthetic appeal of sports posters. Art Deco, a prominent movement during the early 20th century, is particularly significant in this context. Defined by its geometric shapes, bold colors, and luxurious motifs, Art Deco reflects the grandeur and sophistication associated with golf during its peak popularity. This movement highlights the elegance of the sport, capturing the grace of the players and the beauty of the courses.
Additionally, the work of artists such as Léon Benigni and Roger Broders has made a lasting impact on sports-related art. Benigni’s posters often illustrate a sense of leisure and indulgence, while Broders' works focus on the beauty of landscapes and architectural forms, fusing them with the essence of sports. These artists, among others, laid the groundwork for the visual narratives we see in the Poster Golf Vintage collection today, blending artistry with the classic allure of golf.
Cultural Background of Golf and Art
Golf has long been associated with a certain culture of leisure and social status. Its roots can be traced back to 15th-century Scotland, where it began as a pastime for the elite. As the sport gained popularity, it spread across continents, becoming a beloved activity in various countries. The intertwining of golf with art reflects its significance in society, as artists sought to capture moments of joy, competition, and camaraderie that characterized the sport.
The Poster Golf Vintage collection serves as a testament to this cultural legacy, drawing from the rich history of golf as a game of skill and elegance. The posters not only celebrate the sport itself but also the lifestyle it represents. Collectors of these pieces are not just acquiring art; they are embracing a piece of history that resonates with the values of tradition, competition, and appreciation for the great outdoors.

What is the paper and print quality?
Our posters are printed on 275 g/m2 fine-art paper with a matte finish and museum quality. The paper is FSC-certified and printing takes place in Europe. The matte surface reveals colour depth and tonal nuance without glare, giving a faithful reading of each work, from deep blacks to the most delicate shades.
Which sizes are available?
We offer a broad range of sizes, from a small 21x30 cm to a large 84x119 cm. This span lets you dress a desk corner or an entire living-room wall. Every format preserves the proportions of the original artwork, so the composition the artist intended is always respected.
Do you offer framing?
